Year 8 Drawing with Light!
Inspired
by Picasso's light drawings, my Year 8 class used the technology on
their mobile phones (torch light) and digital cameras set on long
exposures to capture drawings in the air! They had so much fun
experimenting with ideas, attempting to create recognisable shapes and
symbols. The above is a successful elephant head, don't you think?!

Year 8 Charcoal Drawings
These students have absolutely blown me away with their dedication to create amazing art this term. They have embraced the challenge of working with black and white charcoal (an unfamiliar medium for most) to create a wonderful tonal scale in each and every one of the 18 student works. To take the hesitation away from making that first mark, we collaged newspaper to a piece of A2 paper to create a base for the drawings. The results are gorgeous. I have a feeling these works will be collected as soon as the display is taken down. I really hope that they end up proudly displayed in their homes. Awesome work Year 8 Artists!
